Daily reading: 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:10
Monday June 13, 2016

Focus passage: We know that if the tent that we live in on earth is torn down, we have a building from God.  It’s a house that isn’t handmade, which is eternal and located in heaven. 2 Corinthians 5:1

When we hold onto grudges, when we allow the pain of our past to remain within us, we are holding onto something that should have been temporary.  We find ourselves perhaps in a place of anger or sorrow.  It keeps us from focusing on the eternal lasting gifts that God offers to us, of forgiveness, reconciliation, grace, mercy, love and joy.

Prayer: God help me to build up your kingdom today.  Help me to walk by faith and not by sight.  Guide my words and my actions.  Amen.
