Let your light shine

Daily reading: 2 Corinthians 4:1-15
Saturday June 11, 2016

Focus passage: We are experiencing all kinds of trouble, but we aren’t crushed.  We are confused, but we aren’t abandoned.  We are knocked down, but we aren’t knocked out.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9

God is able to work through us, allowing a light to shine that is only possible through the power of God:  A light that allows us to develop, peace, love, joy, kindness, self-control, goodness and faithfulness within.
Take time to think about ways that you let your light shine:  It may be in acts of hospitality when you invite someone to share a meal at your home, it may be in sending a note or text message to a friend in need, it may be in moments when you hold your tongue and pray that God can help you to respond in a way that mends rather than breaks.
Know that you are valued and loved by God, that you have been given an amazing treasure but also know that each one of us is valued and loved by God; and it is when we reach out to the needs all around us, we are able to witness and experience the presence of Christ in friend and in stranger.
Prayer:  God fill me with your love and grace so that it can pour out into my community this week.  Amen.
