Daily reading: 1 Corinthians 12:1-31
Sunday May 1, 2016
Focus passage: There are different spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; and there are different ministries and the same Lord, and there are different activities but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6
One of the greatest gifts a faith community has is its people. We are all gifted in unique ways! Together we can accomplish some pretty amazing things. Paul reminds us that no one is able to do everything on their own, we all have to work together. Paul reminds us that no one gift is greater than any other gift, they are all necessary just as all of the parts of our body are.
Take time today to pray your congregation’s directory or if you don’t have access to one write down the names of the people in your congregation: pray for each person and think of the gift that they bring to your community.
If you have time this week, send text messages/emails/or cards thanking members of your congregation for the gift they offer to your congregation.
Prayer: God be the word of love in my actions today, God be the word of love in what I see today, God be the word of love in my words today, God may I live your amazing love today. Amen.
