Living into the resurrection

Focus passage: Thanks to be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! 1 Corinthians 15:57

The resurrection of Jesus isn’t just something we remember and celebrate; it provides an invitation to each of us to be resurrection people.

We celebrate when someone comes to believe in Christ’s resurrection.  We celebrate when someone trusts that they too will be resurrected one day.  But resurrection means more than just about something that will happen in the future.  The entirety of our faith isn’t only about getting into heaven . If it is then we are missing out on God’s presence and work in our world right now.

Christ’s resurrection, then, is only the beginning.

God’s work in Christ to raise to life the one who had been arrested, imprisoned and executed is available to us all.  God desires to raise us  to new life, even in situations that seem to be dead and ripe with conflict.

Prayer:  God you conquer all of our fears, help me to live fully today free from the things that bring me down and rob me of joy.  Amen.
