No matter what
Daily reading: Mark 13:1-8, 24-37

Focus passage: “But nobody knows when that day or hour will come, not the angels in heaven and not the Son. Only the Father knows. Watch out! Stay alert! You don’t know when the time is coming.” Mark 13:32-33
As Jesus moves closer and closer to the cross we are reminded that the Kingdom of God isn’t like the Kingdoms of our world. Success isn’t measured by size and scope. It is measured by faithfulness.
Faithfulness in what may seem to be impossible situations.
Faithfulness even when everything seems to be uncertain.
Because faithfulness isn’t about being certain, it is about trusting in the promise that we are belong to God.
We belong to God who loves us beyond measure.
We belong to the one whom rather than offer us certainty and a clear image of what the future holds, promises to be present with us no matter what happens.
Prayer: God in the uncertainty of tomorrow, help me to be alert today of your presence, instill within me faithfulness. Amen.
