Hope found in the bible

Daily reading: 2 Kings 22:1-10, 23:1-3
Saturday December 5, 2015

Focus passage: The king stood beside the pillar and made a covenant with the LORD that he would follow the LORD by keeping his regulations with all his heart and all his being in order to fulfill the words of this covenant that were written in his scroll.  All the people accepted the covenant. 2 Kings 23:3

The bible is central to our community.  Its words bring us challenge and comfort.  The words help us join in with the countless others who have gone through this season of expectation, anticipation and reflection and who also understand the power of the Word to transform communities.
Take time daily in your home to center yourself on the Word of God.  Take time to meet with sisters and brothers in Christ and talk about the hope of this season this week over coffee, or in the break room, or at meal time.

We have this amazing opportunity each year, to intentionally prepare for God coming into our lives in a new way.   May we be open to the possibility of transformation in and through others.

Prayer:  God of all beginnings and fresh starts bring your hope into our lives today.  Amen.
