Imitate Christ

Background reading: Mark 10:42-45
Daily reading: Philippians 2:5-12
Wednesday November 4, 2015

Focus passage: Adopt the attitude that was in Christ Jesus:  Though he was in the form of God, he did not consider being equal with God something to exploit.  But he emptied himself by taking the form of a slave and by becoming like human beings. Philippians 2:5-7a

We share in the high calling of following Christ and that calling is grounded in an understanding that Christ emptied himself to be with us.
In order to serve Christ we have to let go of our self centered ways and attitudes.   In order to grow we need to be self aware.  In each situation you find yourself in today, think “how can I serve Christ in this moment?”

Prayer:  God may your Spirit infuse my daily living, may I be the presence of love, mercy, compassion, faithfulness, goodness, justice, joy, peace, kindness and forgiveness to others.  Show me the way to go!  Amen.
