Who will you serve?

Daily reading: Mark 10:42-45
Monday, November 2, 2015

Focus passage: “Whoever wants to be first among you will be the slaves of all, for the Human One didn’t come to be served but rather to serve and to give his life to liberate many people.”

Jesus reminds us that even if we don’t think we serve anyone, we actually do.  If we choose not to serve God then we are serving our own self interests.

Following Jesus isn’t an easy road to travel on.  When on it, you are constantly pushed and challenged.   Yes there is comfort and love, but there are plenty of opportunities each day to practice our faith, to make it a living faith and not just a faith that resides in our heads and that can be challenging.

We have this amazing opportunity each and every day to show the love of God to others.  That happens when we serve God.

Be open today to God showing you ways to serve.

Prayer:  God may your Spirit infuse my daily living, may I be the presence of love, mercy, compassion, faithfulness, goodness, justice, joy, peace, kindness and forgiveness to others.  Show me the way to go!  Amen.
