Daily reading: Matthew 13:33
Sunday October 11, 2015

33 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.” Matthew 13:33

The Kingdom of Heaven is present in very ordinary moments of life, when we take what has been given to us and we generously share it with others, like the woman in the parable.

Like the foolish or wasteful love the father in the prodigal son offers to both sons, we too are to be generous, maybe even foolish or wasteful.
We have among us the resources to feed the physical and spiritual needs of the community we are nestled in.  The question is, will we?  Will we allow the bounty that is found here spill out into the neighborhood?
Will you take what you love and turn it into a generous gift for your community?

Prayer:  God may I embrace the bounty that you have provided in my life so that it can be a generous gift to others.  Amen.
