Responding to Need

Background passage: 1 Timothy 6:6-19
Daily reading: Luke 16:19-31

Focus passage: “There was a certain rich man who clothed himself in purple and fine linen, and who feasted luxuriously every day.  At his gate lay a certain poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores.” Luke 16: 19-20

Where is there bounty in your life?

Do you have a joy for hosting gatherings at your home?

Do you have a love for reading and have time to volunteer reading to children at school?

Do you have a great amount of love for others and are able to bring that loving presence to people who are in great need?

We all have areas of bounty in our lives.  Sometimes we might be blind to the gifts we have. In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus we get an extreme look into what can happen when we become so self involved that we don’t even notice great need right outside our door step.

Share the area in your life where you find bounty and how you are sharing that bounty with others in our comment section of this posting.

Prayer: God help me to embrace the bounty you have placed in my life today.  Amen.
