The Power of Prayer
August 13, 2015
Focus scripture: I ask that Christ will live in your hearts through faith. As a result of having strong roots in love. Ephesians 3:17
Having someone pray for you can surface emotions in a powerful way. Often times we ask for prayer when we are nervous about the outcome of something, or if we are seeking justice, or if we are battling something within ourselves or with someone else.
We ask for prayer when someone we love is ill or when they have surgery. We ask for prayer to bring peace in our lives or for comfort when we have lost someone or something. We ask for prayer when our lives change or are facing a big decision.
Hearing someone pray for you can be wonderful and in a way feels like you have been included in a three way conversation between the one speaking the words and God who is listening to the petition.
Take time to pray with and for the members of your family today (or with a close friend).
Prayer: God I thank you for always being present in my life, thank you for those who pray with and for me. Help me to find the words to say in prayer with the people in my life. Amen.
