Waiting on God 6
This week I am exploring passages of scripture that deal with the topic of waiting on God. The early disciples waited from the day of Jesus’ ascension into heaven for God’s Spirit and direction to come to them on the day of Pentecost.
Daily reading: John 5:1-9

Focus scripture: When Jesus saw him lying there, knowing that he had already been there a long time, he asked him, “do you want to get well?” John 5:6
This certain young man had been ill for 38 years! Jesus comes to him and asks him if he wants to get well. He explains to Jesus that when it was time to get into the healing waters someone else took his place.
He knows what needs to happen in order to be healed but hasn’t taken the final step. Jesus immediately heals him so he is able to move on in life.
We patiently wait on God for God to lead us into the next phase of our life: To guide us from one season to the next.
Is there something keeping you from moving into the day that God has planned for you? Is there something weighing you down? Offer it to God in prayer.
Prayer: God I desire to be led by you today, help me to see how I can follow. Amen.
