Waiting on God 5

This week I am exploring passages of scripture that deal with the topic of waiting on God.  The early disciples waited from the day of Jesus’ ascension into heaven for God’s Spirit and direction to come to them on the day of Pentecost.

Daily reading: Matthew 6:25-34
May 22, 2015

Focus scripture:  Therefore, stop worrying about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.  Matthew 6:34

When we worry about tomorrow we are not trusting in God’s leadership in our lives.  Our focus isn’t on today and experiencing God in the moment.  When we patiently wait for God to show us a way forward, we are not anxious about tomorrow, we trust that God will lead us, even if we cannot see a way forward.
God can and does turn road blocks and dead ends into new opportunities!

Take a moment to write down the things that you worry about and pray that God will lead you.  Give you burdens and worries to God so that you can experience the joy of God.

Prayer:  God I desire to be led by you today, help me to see how I can follow.  Amen.
