Waiting on God 2

This week I am exploring passages of scripture that deal with the topic of waiting on God.  The early disciples waited from the day of Jesus’ ascension into heaven for God’s Spirit and direction to come to them on the day of Pentecost.

Daily reading:  Proverbs 3:1-2
May 19, 2015

Focus scripture: Trust in the LORD with all your heart; don’t rely on your own intelligence.  Know him in all your paths, and he will keep your ways straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

The book of Proverbs is a book of wisdom literature.  In today’s passage the author encourages us to know God’s presence in every moment of our life.  This takes practice and patience.

There are situations in life that come about daily that leave us wondering how God is present.  God is able to see around impossible situations, but often we only rely on our own intelligence and become frustrated and feel like we have reached a dead end.    We are to trust that when we depend upon God and follow God that God will find a new way forward for us.

Prayer:  God I desire to be led by you today, help me to see how I can follow.  Amen.
