The Spirit's Help

Daily reading: Romans 8:26-30
May 28, 2015

Focus scripture: In the same way, the Spirit comes to help our weakness.  We don’t know what we should pray, but the Spirit itself pleads our case with unexpressed groans.  Romans 8:26

The Holy Spirit comes to help us in our weakness.  In order to be led we don’t have to have all the answers or the blueprint for tomorrow.  We don’t have to have our own lives together in order to follow Christ.  Quite the opposite, we come to God in our weakness so that God can lift us up.  Even when we don’t have the words to say in prayer, the Spirit intercedes on our behalf.

Prayer:  Come Holy Spirit Come, meet me in my weakness so that I can rely on your power and guidance today.  Amen.
