The Movement of the Spirit
Daily scripture: Acts 2:1-21

Focus scripture: Suddenly a sound from heaven like the howling of a fierce wind filled the entire house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be individual flames of fire alighting on each one of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them to speak. Acts 2:2-4
On the day of Pentecost the patient disciples received the gift of the Holy Spirit. They had waited after Jesus’ ascension for God to guide them forward. God comes to them in a powerful way so that now they can continue the ministry of Christ. It is possible by the gift of the Spirit!
The powerful movement of the Spirit empowers and then compels them out into the world to spread the gospel like a wild fire. The disciples have done the preparation work by following and learning from Jesus they now have the guidance of the Spirit and the encouragement of their fellow believers to move forward.
Prayer: Come Holy Spirit, Come! God I praise you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. May it guide my words and actions today. Amen.
