Daily reading: Acts 2:42-47
May 26, 2015
Focus scripture: The community of believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, to the community, to their shared meals, and to their prayers. Acts 2:42
This portrait of the early church creates a template for us today. When we strip away all that has cluttered the church landscape, we find the core of who we are as followers of Christ. We are called to be students of Jesus, to meet physical and spiritual needs. We are to pray with and for one another.
Take time today to pray for the members of your faith community, with each name ask God to be present in your relationship with them.
Prayer: Come Holy Spirit Come, may my faith community be open to your movement as I pray for … Guide us and inspire us today. Amen.
