A New Day

Daily reading: Genesis 2:4-9
May 13, 2015

Focus scripture: the LORD God formed the human from the topsoil of the fertile land and blew life’s breath into his nostrils.  The human came to life.  Genesis 2:7

There are a variety of biblical examples of God’s Spirit moving in community and in creation.  The foundational story is in the beginning of our bible.  The stories of creation ground our understanding of our world as one in which God is the creator and God seeks to build community and relationship.

God takes the clay of the earth in the second creation story and makes something new.  Life springs forth as God breathes life into the first being.
This story grounds us in the reality that God is present with us, willing, able and ready to create a new day for us.  To take us in a direction we had never dreamed of before God placed in the dream in our minds.

Prayer:  Holy God, I welcome your Spirit in my life may it create in me a heart for you and for your creation.  Amen.
