The Wind of the Spirit

Daily reading: John 3:1-8
April 13, 2015

“God’s Spirit blows wherever it wishes.  You hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going.  It’s the same with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8

Becoming a follower of Christ is like starting life again.

When we accept the Spirit’s movement in our life we learn a new way of life that is grounded in compassion, mercy, forgiveness, love, grace and so much more.  Embodying these spiritual traits can take us in unexpected directions in our lives.
As the young members of the baptism class this year said, it means “no give backs”; meaning if you are mean to me, I’m not going to be mean back to you.    And that is just the beginning!

Prayer:  God may your Spirit enliven my actions and words today.  Amen.
