Daily reading: Luke 24:35-48
April 9, 2015

While they were saying these things, Jesus himself stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Luke 24:37

Peace be with you!  Jesus says in the midst of the disciples fear and terror.
Would we expect anything else?  In the middle of great storms on sea, in the face of crippling illness, in life or death situations, Christ joins us and says “peace be with you.”  Not to downplay what we are facing, but to remind us that he is present with us always.

Prayer:  God I thank you for being with me through all of life’s trials and troubles.  Amen.
