Daily reading: Luke 15:11-24
April 24, 2015

While he was still far off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion; he ran and put his arms around him and kissed him.  Luke 15:20

This is a beautiful story about patient love.  It mirrors so completely our lives; we take what is given to us and make some big mistakes.  It is what makes us human; we are never 100% good or bad, somewhere in between.
But sometimes we make BIG mistakes, ones that we believe that we don’t deserve forgiveness for.

The father in this story waits for his son and runs joyfully toward him when he comes home.  Our lack of faith doesn’t make God any less faithful toward us.
God patiently waits for us to return.

Prayer:  God help me to turn more fully to you today may I feel the warm embrace of your compassion and forgiveness.  Amen.
