I won't forget you

 Scripture: Isaiah 49:8-15
March 18, 2015

Can a woman forget her nursing child, fail to pity the child of her womb?  Even these may forget, but I won’t forget you.  Isaiah 49:15

This grace and hope filled passage ends with the words “I won’t forget you.”
We all have a deep desire to be remembered.  This passage happens when Israel has been in exile and quite literally feels cut off from God.  But God reminds them that God will never forget them and that even after their unfaithfulness God has dreams of bringing them home, to come out of the darkness, to be in a place where they won’t be hungry or thirsty.

The good news is that God is always forgiving!  God is a God of infinite second chances because of God’s deep steadfast love for all of us.

Prayer:  God thank you for never forgetting us, for never giving up on us!  Amen.
