Give. By Rev. Leslie Dalstra
“Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God.” Luke 20:25
How we spend our money reflects our deeply held beliefs. How we spend our money directly reflects our hoped for future. Yes, paying our rent or mortgage is necessary but it also reflects our hoped for future of housing.
How we spend our time during this season of preparation reflects our belief in God and how we understand God to be present in our lives.
To whom do we place our allegiance? If we believe that God is worthy of our praise and following, then our giving and spending during this season will be reflected in how we spend our resources and to whom we give gifts.
Prayer: God help us to center our lives, both our time and our resources, on your Kingdom work in our world. May our allegiance be with you. Amen.
